The trailer for Apex Legends Season 4 reveals Revenant

By Heidi Nicholas,
Earlier this week, Jimmie "Forge" McCormick was introduced as the newest Legend for Apex Legends. Soon after, he was promptly killed off by Revenant, who many had hoped would be Season 4's Legend. Now, the trailer for Season 4, Assimilation, has been revealed, and shows off Revenant and his skills in full.

At the beginning, a character, later shown to be Revenant, is given an assassination contract. He takes out a whole room of guards, showing off some of his unnatural abilities: vanishing before being shot, turning into a smoky, fiery version of himself. The only one left alive is the daughter of his target, who looks as though she's ready for revenge. "Revenant was once the greatest hitman the Syndicate ever had", the Apex Legends Twitter account says, "But when his programming failed, he saw what Hammond Robotics had turned him into. Hammond Robotics' return to the Outlands has renewed his thirst for vengeance, and he won’t stop until they’re all dead." Revenant's short bio is now in the space on the Apex Legends site where Forge used to be, saying: "Consumed by hate and obsessed with revenge, Revenant uses unnatural abilities to haunt his enemies and defy death."

Revenant Season 4

Ever since Forge's murder, the Apex Legends Twitter account have been sharing information about a series of break-ins at Hammond Robotics. Three employees had vanished, and at the scene of all three crimes was data which added up to footage of a strange robotic arm. Then, footage was shown of a very Revenant-like assailant. The developers had been teasing that there'll be big changes to the World's Edge map, similar to what they did in Season 2 with King's Canyon, and that these changes will have something to do with Hammond Robotics. They said that the trailer for Season 4 would shed light on this, and on a cold case which had remained unsolved for 25 years. We've yet to see how Revenant and his murderous escapades play into the map changes, but we'll keep you updated.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
