There's double XP up for grabs in Modern Warfare until the start of Season 2 By Heidi Nicholas, 06 Feb 2020 CommentsSeason 2 of Modern Warfare starts next week on February 11th, and Infinity Ward are running double XP, double weapon XP and double tiers right up until it starts.Double tiers will help give a leg up to players trying to complete the Battle Pass before Season 2 begins next week. Infinity Ward are still keeping Season 2 details to themselves; they only revealed the start date recently in a short video, which also teased the return of Simon "Ghost" Riley, and the Rust multiplayer map. Season 1, whilst it may have had its ups and downs, has also been a pretty ambitious effort on Infinity Ward's part, promising the most free content in COD history. We know Season 2 will have new weapons and new operators, and considering that Infinity Ward actually extended Season 1 until February 11th just to make room for the new items, challenges, and playlists they were bringing into it, it's likely Season 2 will have just as much — if not more — content. Season 1's final playlist update also went live recently: Face Off Grind, Shipment 24/7, Shoot House 24/7, Shoot the Ship for Hardcore, Hardcore 10v10 Mosh Pit - TDM, Dom, KC, HQ, and 10v10 Mosh Pit. Also just announced are the results of Activision and Infinity Ward's efforts to raise money for the bushfire relief in Australia. They'd renamed their Outback Pack as the Outback Relief Pack, and promised that the net proceeds from the pack (including those from players who'd already bought it) would be donated towards the efforts to combat the bushfires. The sales from the pack ended on January 31st, and Activision say the Call of Duty community raised over $1.6 million. They're working with humanitarian aid organisation Direct Relief, who've already "started to provide much needed emergency and health supplies in coordination with local aid groups across the country as they respond to the pressing needs of millions of Australians affected by these tragic conditions." It's less than a week to go before Season 2 starts, so we can expect to hear more details from Infinity Ward soon.Xbox One Written by Heidi NicholasHey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
