On the call, Zelnick said that they are "disappointed" that WWE 2K20 did not meet their expectations both in terms of "sales and quality" and that "2K is actively working with Visual Concepts to ensure that these issues are addressed in the future." More will be revealed on what those plans are soon, Zelnick continued, "The WWE brand continues to expand worldwide and there remains a substantial long-term opportunity to grow our WWE 2K series by improving the quality of the game."

WWE 2K20 had a rough launch when it was released in October. The game was riddled with graphical glitches and bugs that rendered the wrestling sim un-playable, and for these reasons WWE 2K20 sits at a lowly 45 Metascore and an even lower 1.1 User Score rating. The game was developed by Visual Concepts after 2K decided to drop the previous developer involved with the franchise, Yukes. Since launch, Visual Concepts has released several patches and alleviated some of the issues, but it looks like Take-Two still isn't happy and wants both 2K and VC to continue making improvements.

In Take-Two's previous earnings call, President Karl Slatoff revealed that they were disappointed with the reviews and consumer feedback for WWE 2K20.
