Here's what's coming in Rainbow Six Siege's Operation Void Edge By Heidi Nicholas, 18 Feb 2020 CommentsUbisoft has released the patch notes for Rainbow Six Siege's Operation Void Edge, which has two new operators, a map rework, new weapons skins, and a price decrease for Operators. We covered the first look at the two new operators last week: they're attacker Iana and defender Oryx. Iana's primary weapons are the ARX200 and G36C, and her secondary weapon is the Mk1 9mm. She's got Frag and Smoke grenades for her gadgets, and her unique ability is the Gemini Replicator, which the Rainbow Six Siege site calls a "remotely-controlled holographic copy of Iana". It can scout ahead but can't attack, and it has a time limit, as well as a cooldown between every two uses. Oryx's primary weapons are the SPAS-12 and the MP5. His secondary weapons are the Bailiff 410 and the USP40, and he's got barbed wire and a bulletproof camera as his gadgets. His unique abilities are the Remah Dash and Hatch Climbing. The first is his signature move, letting him cover short distances quickly and knock down enemies. It can also take him through breakable walls, although it will understandably use up a little health for him to physically break through it. The second lets him interact with broken hatches; climbing through, hanging on the edge, and dropping down. Oregon gets a map reworking with an updated look and "new points of access and rotation". Ubisoft are making a few other changes with Void Edge: breaking a barricade will now create smaller debris, so that line of sight isn't blocked. Drone Spawn will no longer be random, and drones will spawn on the same side of the building that your Operator did. Legion and Twitch have been balanced. The season's first Elite set is Ash's Tomb Raider uniform, headgear, victory animation, charm, and gadget and weapon skins. The price of Operators is being decreased: Mira and Jackal will now cost 10,000 Renown or 240 R6 Credits, Lion and Finka will be priced at 15,000 Renown or 350 R6 Credits, and Mozzie and Gridlock’s will now cost 20,000 Renown or 480 R6 Credits. Void Edge has three new weapon skins; the Saber Carve, the Clog Dance, and the River Scale. Ubisoft also mentions the Year 5 Pass: it includes access to six new Year 5 Operators and six new headgears and uniforms for them, as well as customisation items. Plus, "As a thank you gift to Year 4 Pass owners who renew their Pass for Year 5," they're offering 600 R6 Credits and two Legendary and three Epic Alpha Packs. There's a number of other changes listed in the patch notes, which you can read in full here. Ubisoft hasn't confirmed the release date for Operation Void Edge yet, but general assumptions put it at the beginning of March. We'll keep you posted.Xbox One Written by Heidi NicholasHey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
