Call of Duty Modern Warfare update: Bug fixes and a tankless Ground War playlist

By Sam Quirke,
The latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update has landed over the weekend. In a brief developer post, Infinity Ward laid out a few of the bugs that have been stomped in recent patches, and also announced the imminent arrival of a new Ground War playlist focused solely on infantry. As the bugs are mostly multiplayer-focused, none of it is likely to affect your hunt for the primarily single-player Call of Duty: Modern Warfare achievements.

First off, here's the bug fixes direct from the developers:

  • Fix for Regiment tags appearing incorrectly
  • Fix for some players being unable to claim existing Battle Pass tokens
  • Fix for players receiving the “Jockworth” error while in Gunfight Tournaments
  • Backend fixes
  • Fixed a bug where numbers on the team roster and number on the COD Caster minimap did not correspond
  • Fix for a CDL Gunsmith exploit
  • Pointman: Fix for an issue where Kill Chain scores were being given for Killstreak kills without having Kill Chain equipped
As for the rest of this week, Infinity Ward has said that 3v3 Snipers mode is coming to Rust and the Ground War playlist is getting even more boots-on-the-ground than usual. Infantry Ground War will remove tanks and APCs from the fray, meaning players will have to rely on their own two feet to get them to victory. The Bazaar map is being added into the rotation as well. This weekend, there will be another double XP event – we can expect that to kick off on Friday.

Modern Warfare Season Two is officially under way. Thanks to a whole bunch of leaks, it's pretty obvious that a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Battle Royale is on the way very, very soon.
