Next Week on Xbox: The Division 2 expands into New York

By Sam Quirke,
Next week on Xbox is going to be a quiet one, by the looks of it – perhaps appropriately, as the industry is still reeling from the impacts of coronavirus and pulling out of events around the world. We'll have to make do with just a handful of releases. One at least is fairly significant, as The Division 2 launches a major expansion right at the start of the week.

Baron: Fur is Gonna Fly

Baron: Fur is Gonna Fly Achievements: 10 achievements
Release date: March 4th

Baron: Fur is Gonna Fly is a fantasy pastiche of the biplane dogfights of the Great War, featuring a colourful cast of animal pilots. With strange special weapons and eight characters with their own taunts and songs, this game has more than a little of a Worms feel to it. Developer Dogmelon promises that the flight mechanics will be easy enough to learn for the beginner, but challenging to master. The entire achievement list has already been completed by at least one gamer with an early code, which thankfully means that it's unlikely to have unobtainables.

Choose an animal pilot, and let the thrilling aerial dogfights begin, in this bonkers local multiplayer action game! Up to 8 players duke it out in biplanes armed to the teeth with wacky weapons including flamethrowers, stinky fish, and more!

60 Seconds!

60 Seconds! Achievements: 56 achievements
Release date: March 6th

60 Seconds! is an unusual two-stage game; first, players will be moving as many supplies (and family members) as they can into an underground shelter. They will have 60 seconds before their 3D suburban home is obliterated by a nuclear apocalypse. After that, the format moves to a tactical 2D choose-your-own-adventure mode. Players will have to ration the supplies they managed to grab and deal with emerging complications among the family members they rescued as each day in the shelter passes. Robot Gentlemen promise that each playthrough will be unique depending on your decisions. The dark comedic tale has enjoyed very positive ratings on Steam since its original launch in 2015. The handful of early access players on TA have yet to get through the achievement list, so it remains to be seen how hard the overall completion will be.

60 Seconds! is a dark comedy atomic adventure of scavenge and survival. Collect supplies and rescue your family before the nuke hits. Stay alive in your fallout shelter. Make difficult decisions, ration food and hunt mutant cockroaches. And maybe survive. Or not.

The Division 2: Warlords of New York expansion

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 Achievements: 49 achievements in the base game, DLC achievements unknown
Release date: March 3rd

A surprise reveal at the start of the month showed The Division 2 players an exciting new expansion into Lower Manhattan. Warlords of New York aims to expand the game's story and create a more complete end-game experience, and will also represent an opportunity for Massive to act on player feedback. The endgame will also feature 12-week-long Seasons during which players will be hunting down specific individuals. There will be five main missions and eight side missions as players investigate the whereabouts of terrorist Aaron Keener. It's worth noting that players who start the narrative in New York won't be able to go back to D.C. until the mission is complete. The update coming with Warlords of New York will let players more dynamically set the difficulty of the open world, reset the map once it's cleared, and try out a new Legendary difficulty.

It's worth noting that the launch of the expansion will also bring a free Title Update to all Division 2 players with significant tweaks and improvements. Also, the base game is both free to play this weekend as part of Free Play Days, and only three bucks to purchase ahead of the launch of the expansion.

Games with Gold next week: Batman: The Enemy Within and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2

As it's such a slow week, we thought it was worth reminding those of you with an Xbox Live Gold or an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription that there are two further games to keep an eye out for next week. Both Batman: The Enemy Within and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will be available on Xbox One next week at no additional cost for subscribers. The Enemy Within is a Telltale game, so it's both a relatively easy completion and by all accounts a pretty decent narrative adventure, especially for fans of the Batman franchise. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 hasn't got the best reputation compared to other entries in the veteran series, but it still has a solid 3.7 rating from the community. The achievements aren't as troubling as one might expect, either – Tucky90's Castlevania: Lords of Shadow achievement walkthrough gives guidance along the way, including tips for making the harder difficulty easy enough on New Game Plus. Besides, it's nice to complete the collection – both the original Lords of Shadow game and Mirror of Fate HD have been Games with Gold in the past.

That's it for next week, at least for now – we'll update the list on Monday if we come across any other last-minute additions to the week's releases.
