Star Trek Online celebrates its tenth anniversary with Legacy By Heidi Nicholas, 03 Mar 2020 FollowtopicsStar Trek OnlineStar TrekPerfect World EntertainmentFree to PlayOnline MultiplayerMMOHeidi Nicholas Cryptic Studios is celebrating the tenth anniversary of Star Trek Online with Legacy, a new update and a "love letter to Star Trek and to STO". Legacy includes a new two part episode titled The Measure of Morality, which takes place on the planet Excalbia from "The Savage Curtain" episode of the original series. "The Excalbians have decided to put on another test of Good and Evil," reads the announcement from Cryptic Studios, "and your characters will play a major part in it. But you won’t be alone. Returning to the game for the first time since Delta Rising, Jeri Ryan portrays a Seven of Nine that’s different from any we’ve seen before. And for the first time ever, Sonequa Martin-Green joins the cast to bring Michael Burnham to life! These episodes are a love letter to the past and future of Star Trek Online, and we think you’ll love this jaunt down memory lane."Players can also earn the Khitomer Alliance Battlecruiser just by playing through The Measure of Morality, or by taking part in the Omega Molecule Stabilization event or the Task Force Operation Battle. Cryptic says they're also giving players the chance to get hands-on with Borg technology with the Borg Lock Box, which upgrades Hugh's ship as the Borg Juggernaut. It also contains powers which Captains can use to, for example, force enemy ships over to their side. Lastly, Cryptic is adding the Mycelial Realm to the regular Task Force Operation rotation. Legacy is likely to add on a considerable amount of time to what's already estimated to be a 200+ hour game, even without the DLC; but it sounds as though it's a fitting tribute to a game which is now a decade old.More Star Trek Online stories: The best MMO games to play in January 2025 We're Giving Away 100 Age of Discovery Packs for Star Trek Online Star Trek Online: Rise of Discovery Now Available on Xbox One Star Trek Online Rise of Discovery Focuses on Lorca and Landry Giveaway: Win a Pro Gaming Router With Star Trek Online Game UpdateXbox One Written by Heidi NicholasHeidi tends to lean towards indie games, RPGs, and open-world games on Xbox, and when not playing Disney Dreamlight Valley, happily installs every new wholesome game that appears on Xbox Game Pass, before diving back into favorites like The Witcher 3.
