Updated PUBG Vikendi map is being tested out on PC, likely to return in Season 7

By Sam Quirke,
Back in January, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds players were treated to a new smaller map – but the Karakin map update didn't arrive without a cost, as the developers took away Vikendi. PUBG Corp said that the Vikendi map needed a significant revamp despite many live balance updates since its launch in early 2019. It now looks like Vikendi may return on all platforms for the upcoming Season 7, as the map is being tested by select influencers and community MVPs on PC. Oh, and it has trains now.

The teaser trailer also shows an expansion to the decrepit amusement park Dino Land, before ending on a speeding train hurtling towards a player.

We don't have firm details on the start of the next Season – the current Season Six isn't due to end until April 16 – and it's not entirely clear whether Vikendi will be immediately available on all platforms or if it'll get a PC live run first. In the meantime, we will just have to wait for some impressions from the insiders who get to experience it. The big question on our mind: Will players be able to commandeer the trains, and if so will we have a brand new way to get our Fury Road achievement in style?
