Call of Duty: Modern Warfare battle royale footage leaks online

By Sean Carey,
Gameplay for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's worst-kept secret has been uploaded online ahead of its big reveal. A YouTuber by the name of Chaos was invited to a media event for the upcoming battle royale mode titled "Warzone," and has seemingly uploaded his captured footage ahead of the official NDA ending.

It seems the footage from Chaos has been taken down, but the video has since been reuploaded by various other YouTube channels. We've included a link above, but don't expect it to stay around for long.

Chaos confirms some already leaked details. Modern Warfare's battle royale mode will be a free-to-play standalone game that features cross-play. 150 players can take to the huge map in either a solo, duos or trios mode, and are armed with a pistol when they first spawn. Squads of four aren't yet present in the game. During a round, players can pick up Cash which can be used at Buy Stations. These Buy Stations can be used to purchase killstreaks and to revive downed teammates. Dead players are also given a chance to respawn via a 1v1 fight in the Gulag. There is also a selection of vehicles to traverse the map including helicopters, trucks and more. Weapon attachments are not present, but custom weapons can be found in supply drops.

Chaos also teases a respawn game mode called "Plunder," which has players focus on collecting Cash.

In recent weeks, Activision filed a subpoena to Reddit under the DMCA act to try and stop a particular user from leaking details about the upcoming battle royale mode.

We expect to hear more on Modern Warfare's Warzone mode shortly.
