Doom Eternal will run at 60 fps across all Xbox One consoles

By Sean Carey,
A senior programmer working on Doom Eternal has revealed that the game will run at 60 fps across all Xbox One consoles. The Xbox One, Xbox One S and Xbox One X will push the hardware for a buttery smooth demon-killing experience.

Billy Khan, the lead engine programmer for Doom Eternal, announced via a tweet that the game would be playable at 60 fps across a number of consoles, including both the base PS4 and Xbox One. This pretty impressive considering both of those base consoles came out in 2013, and the hardware is ageing. In comparison, Khan said in an interview with IGN that the game running on high-end PCs could hit a ridiculous 1000 fps, "On id Tech 6, we maxed it out to 250 fps. This game if you have the hardware right it could have hit 1000 fps. There's really no upper limit."

However, Khan doesn't mention what resolution Doom Eternal will be running at to hit that 60 fps sweet spot. Previously, id Software has said that with the Xbox One X, the game would be Xbox One X Enhanced and it would be targeting 60 fps at a 4K resolution.
