Vote Now for April 2020's TA Playlist Game

By The TA Playlist Team,

It appears as though the Goose is causing havoc for the rest of the month, but we must cast our glances forward to April. Next month, we’re doing something a little different. We’ve kept our eyes peeled for any ideas and suggestions from our community. And our regular TA Playlist connoisseur, JohnnyInterfnk, has suggested a great theme for us to share. For April 2020, the theme is Game of the Year Nominees, giving you four amazing titles to choose from: Control, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, The Outer Worlds and Resident Evil 2.

Control E3 screens

Control is a third-person shooter game from Remedy Entertainment, the creative minds and studio behind Quantum Break and Alan Wake. With a rating of 4.39 out of 5 on-site, it’s safe to say that it follows in the footsteps of those two games.

In Control, You play as Jesse Faden, the new Director of the Federal Bureau of Control. It’s up to you to explore the Oldest House – the FBC's paranormal headquarters – and utilize your abilities in order to defeat a deadly enemy, known as the Hiss, which has invaded and corrupted reality. Loved by many, including Mr. TA himself, it’s a supernatural adventure that’s surely worth a vote.

From the creators of Dark Souls comes yet another story of a lost warrior on a very lethal journey. Bound to protect a young lord who carries the blood of an ancient heritage, your failure as a protector has cast you onto a path of hardships and death to redeem yourself. As with its Dark Souls brethren, this game is not for the faint-hearted. But if you’re feeling up to the challenge, don’t forget that one of our local Souls fanatics, vSully, has written a wonderful walkthrough for use.

The Outer Worlds

The Outer Worlds (Win 10) Achievements

Voted Game of the Year in 2019 by the TA community, The Outer Worlds is a classic sci-fi adventure where players take on the role of a recently thawed colonist who awakens in a colony controlled by a corrupt conglomerate: The Board. Tasked with finding a way to end the dictatorial reign of the organization, players will sail the stars, meet new companions, and discover just how much danger humanity is really in. With so much to do, it’s bound to be a fun adventure for the avid space explorer. Better yet, it’s also free on Game Pass.

Resident Evil 2

Resident Evil 2 remake

A deadly virus, a city of flesh-eating zombies, and two familiar protagonists. Resident Evil 2 is often regarded as one of the best Resident Evil games on the market, and the remake takes it all up a notch. Join Leon and Claire in their escape out of Raccoon City, and beware of the creatures that follow in your wake, such as the Tyrant. With a rating of 4.76 out of 5 stars on-site, it’s a big hit for Resident Evil and horror fans alike.

And that’s it for April’s list! The TA Playlist will continue to grow and we will continue to interact with all of the amazing members on the site, whether you chose the winning game or not. We hope that all of you will participate in the club once again and come to chat with us about your favorite titles. We’ve been working hard to accumulate new ideas to keep the Playlist fresh. And, as per usual, we’re keeping these ideas open to the community, so feel free to share your recommendations via the TA Playlist Hub. Lastly, thanks to Johnny for sticking with the playlist club for so long. And thanks to all the rest of our regular TA Playlist members!

The TA Playlist is a monthly community event. Everyone votes on which of four games to play, and then we all play through it in the following month. There's a dedicated hub to discuss everything about the game, from story beats to gameplay tips – and of course, you can track your achievement progress during the month as well. TA Playlist was created by Mark Delaney and is now run by Miles, Nici and Chewie.
