Sea of Thieves is "coming soon" to Steam By Sean Carey, 02 Apr 2020 CommentsXbox has announced that Sea of Thieves will be getting a Steam release. The Steam version requires an Xbox Live login and will include crossplay between both Xbox One and Windows 10 platforms. The news was announced over on Xbox Wire. While a specific release date is yet to be revealed, a Steam page has gone live with the listing. No price has been mentioned for the game, and pre-orders aren't currently live. However, you can wishlist Rare's open-world adventure title. Although not confirmed, as the game requires an Xbox Live login, it's likely that you'll be able to earn Xbox achievements through the Steam version. Sea of Thieves already has a substantial player base thanks to its inclusion into Xbox Game Pass and frequent content updates. In January, Rare announced that 10 million players had dropped into Sea of Thieves. The Steam version will almost certainly boost those numbers. The most recent content update, Heart of Fire, brought with it a new Tall Tale and — to the delight of many here on TA — three new achievements that weren't Tome related.Xbox Game PassXbox Game Pass PCXbox OneWindows Written by Sean CareySean joined the team as a Staff Writer for both TrueAchievements and TrueTrophies in 2019.
