Poll: Are you disappointed with the lack of optical audio port on the Xbox Series X?

By Sean Carey,
It's Friday which means it's time for another TrueAchievements poll. Last week, we asked you for your most anticipated Xbox game of April. Over 2500 of you voted, and 983 of you (38.64%) were most looking forward to Resident Evil 3. Honourable mentions go to both Minecraft Dungeons and Gears Tactics. Dungeons might have seen a few more votes had it not been for Mojang delaying the game a month due to the current pandemic.

Xbox Series X no optical audio port

This week, Phil Spencer revealed the reasons why the Xbox Series X would not be featuring an optical audio port. Spencer said the decision was down to both the form factor of the console and pricing. This means for some Xbox owners a move across to the new console would mean a re-think for their audio systems such as home theatres and headsets. Headset manufacturer, Astro is currently working on a solution for some of its existing range for those hoping to move to the Series X — game surround sound and voice chat is to be delivered by USB.

For this week's poll, we want to know if you're disappointed with lack of optical audio port on the Series X? Are you a frequent user, or is it something you've never used? Let us know by voting in the poll below and sharing your opinion in the comments. Have a great weekend and stay safe.
