Skater XL coming to Xbox One in July

By Sean Carey,
Skater XL is a new skateboarding title coming to Xbox One this July. Aside from making their own custom skaters, players will be able to take control of legends such as Tom Asta, Tiago Lemos, Evan Smith and Brandon Westgate.

In Skater XL, the avatar's feet are mapped to the analogue sticks. This allows the player direct control of both the feet and the board. According to Easy Day Studios, the team has spent a lot of time capturing and recreating many legendary Californian skating spots. The map includes iconic Los Angeles locations such as the LA Convention Centre and the Staples Center.

With the lack of a decent skateboarding sim on the Xbox One, Skater XL could potentially fill that void. Session was due to launch in Game Preview last October, but has seen several delays and is now expected to release sometime in the spring. EA has been quiet for years now on the Skate front, but there have been several leaks regarding a new Tony Hawk's game.

Skater XL releases on all platforms in July.
