Inside Xbox returns tomorrow, with a look at the single-player mode for Grounded

By Heidi Nicholas,
Inside Xbox returns tomorrow, April 7th, at 2pm PT/5pm ET. Although there won't be any new details on the Xbox Series X, there will be a look at the single-player mode for Obsidian's upcoming survival title, Grounded, along with game trailers, updates, Xbox Game Pass news, and more.

There hasn't been much news on Grounded since it was announced at X019 last year. It's a survival game where players are shrunk down — to around 10mm — and plonked into a garden with some suddenly very dangerous bugs. There'll be co-op for up to four players, and the premise sounds promising for a multiplayer experience; with a team of players working together to build up defences and take down insects. It'll be interesting, therefore, to see how single-player will work in such a game, especially since Grounded will have a complete story. Obsidian's talk at PAX East this year went into a lot of detail, including the game's arachnophobe mode — which, instead of removing spiders, will instead work at making them less threatening: Obsidian are working with the Xbox Accessibility Lab to find out which features of a spider might trigger arachnophobia, and then adjusting the spiders in the arachnophobia mode based on that research. This look at Grounded's single-player experience will take place after the episode, at 2:40pm PT/5:40pm ET, on Mixer and Twitch.

The rest of the Inside Xbox will include news on Sea of Thieves, Gears Tactics, Xbox Game Pass, and "some surprises" from the ID@Xbox team. Although the Xbox team won't be discussing new Xbox Series X details, they will be discussing the technical specs and "what they mean for gamers". Inside Xbox returns tomorrow, at 2pm PT/5pm ET, and we'll be sure to bring you all of the key news.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
