E3 2021 dates confirmed - the gaming showcase will return

By Oscar Dayus,
E3 2020 might be cancelled, but next year's event is already being planned. E3 2021's dates have been confirmed: the show will run from June 15 to June 17, 2021.

E3 organiser the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) announced the news (via GamesIndustry.biz) to partners over the weekend but has not yet made it public. We've contacted the organisation for confirmation.

The above dates put the show in its usual Tuesday to Thursday slot. Details on publishers' press conferences have not yet been revealed, but they are typically held from the weekend prior to the show itself.

It remains to be seen what effects E3 2020's cancellation has on the future of the event. Many publishers have expressed wishes to hold digital livestreams in lieu of this year's physical expo, as Nintendo has done for a number of years now.

Microsoft is one such company, though no more details are yet known regarding Xbox's digital E3 2020 livestream.
