Big Call of Duty: Modern Warfare season 3 update out now - here's everything it adds

By Oscar Dayus,
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's season three has begun, bringing a host of new content to the game and changing up the battle royale spin-off Warzone, too.

The season three update, which weighs in at around 14 GB, is available now, introducing three new multiplayer maps and a new operator, among other additions. The maps are named Talsik Backlot, Hovec Sawmill, and Aniyah Incursion; the first of those is a remake of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare's Backlot, while the last is a smaller, 6v6 version of the existing 10v10 Aniyah map already in Modern Warfare.

The new operator, meanwhile, is Alex, who we now know survives the end of the single-player campaign, though he does not possess a prosthetic leg. Along with every other operator, he'll have the new SKS marksman rifle and Renetti pistol at his disposal, should you obtain them via the season three battle pass.

On the Warzone front, the changes are less dramatic, but there are still one or two meaningful tweaks. The rumoured Quads mode is already live, for example, while loadout drops have been made more expensive once again - they will now set you back $10,000 in-game.

No new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare achievements are included in the patch, unfortunately, but at least there's plenty of new stuff to keep us entertained.

We've got the full list of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare achievements - check the list for guides to unlocking them.
