The official Crysis Twitter account is teasing some big news

By Sean Carey,
The official Crysis Twitter account has posted a rather cryptic tweet. Naturally, the internet has gone into full-on speculation mode about whether a new entry into the Crysis series or possibly a remaster is on the cards. The tweet simply says, "RECEIVING DATA."

It should be pointed out that the Crysis Twitter account has been dormant for several years. There hasn't been any activity from the account since December 2016. The latest tweet doesn't give anything away so all we can do is speculate as to what it might mean, but it's certainly welcome nonetheless.

The last entry into the series was Crysis 3, which released six years ago back in 2013 on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. According to the community ratings here on TA, the third instalment was the least popular with a rating of 3.66/5. We expect to hear more on whatever Crytek is teasing — be it a new game or a remaster — shortly.

UPDATE: A further tweet has just been posted:
