Site Update: Reworked menus and a new Captures tab

By Rich Stone,
After we re-launched the TrueAchievements website back in October, we received a lot of feedback, both positive and negative.

Since then, we've been able to fix all the issues that had the most negative feedback apart from one - that lots of links had been hidden away inside a tab on the gamer menu. We wanted to address this as part of an update to the menus that we have just put live.

My Links Menu

The links that had been hidden away now form part of a brand new My Links menu in the main title bar that also collapses into the main menu on mobile devices. We've also put the My Gaming Sessions link back into the Gaming Sessions section of the Community menu, where it belongs.

Captures Tab

Moving these links out of the gamer menu has meant we've been able to add a new Capture tab that contains all of your most recent screenshots and videos that have been captured on your Xbox. You can share the most recent one to social channels or even directly to your TrueAchievements feed straight from the menu.

Changes to the Friends Tab

Another request we see regularly is to control the list of friends in the Friends Tab of the gamer menu.

You can now choose a friend group that will appear in that menu from the Friend Groups Page.

For the uninitiated, Friend Groups let you organise your friends on TA into, well, groups, and you can then set whether those groups appear on your friend feed or not, and now also whether they appear on the friends tab of your gamer menu. If you set a friend group to appear in the gamer menu, the top 100 friends from that group will appear there in alphabetical order.

With this update, we've also laid the groundwork for some more performance improvements that will be coming during the coming weeks and months.

Stay safe!
