Chapter 2 - Season 3 of Fortnite will now start in June By Heidi Nicholas, 15 Apr 2020 CommentsChapter 2 - Season 2 of Fortnite has now been extended beyond the original end date in April. Epic is now planning for Season 3 to start on June 4th, but says there's "lots of content" to come before then. It's a brief announcement, and Epic doesn't give the reasoning behind the delay. Season 2 was meant to end on April 30th, meaning that it'll now run for over a month longer than planned, and Epic says that time will be filled with lots of content including a number of game updates, new challenges, bonus XP, and "a couple more surprises" to come. There's been extensions and delays for previous seasons: Season 2 was extended to make room for a wave of holiday-themed updates. Before that, there were issues for Epic when they sued a playtester who had allegedly leaked info about the game's second chapter. Chapter 2 ended up garnering a huge amount of media attention when Season X ended with a world-ending black hole and, at the same time, Epic wiped all of their social media accounts. There's no such world-ending drama now: although there's no reason given for the delay, players do have a new launch date for Chapter 2 - Season 3 to look forward to, and will be getting a lot of new content while they wait in the meantime. We'll update you if there's any further delay.Xbox One Written by Heidi NicholasHey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
