Call of Duty 2020 is titled Black Ops: Cold War — report

By Sean Carey,
The next Call of Duty game that's due to launch this autumn is reportedly called Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The news comes via a leak that Eurogamer has managed to confirm through its own sources.

Known leaker Okami13_ shared an image of the original Call of Duty: Black Ops cover art with the words "Cold War" included. According to Eurogamer, this is indeed the correct title. Eurogamer also says that Treyarch will be at the helm of development and that the name suggests the Black Ops series will be returning to its roots with a historical setting.

Eurogamer also believes that the mysterious bunkers that have now opened in Call of Duty: Warzone are teasing the new title and will begin hinting at the Cold War setting soon. Phones dotted around the map in Warzone have started ringing, and when answered, a message is played out in Russian.

Warzone's developers have said the battle royale is to be the "one constant" that will connect all of the Call of Duty franchises. The game's map does feature plenty of Eastern Bloc-style scenery and references, so it's possible there could be a Cold War connection in Warzone.

In other Call of Duty news, Infinity Ward says it's aware of the game's huge file size taking up a lot of space on players' hard drives, but things probably won't be changing any time soon.
