The third DLC for Borderlands 3 features bandits, outlaws, and a "frontier planet"

By Heidi Nicholas,
The next paid DLC for Borderlands 3, Bounty of Blood: A Fistful of Redemption, asks players to dish out "frontier justice" against bandits and outlaws on the planet Gehenna. Bounty of Blood releases on June 25th.

Bounty of Blood: A Fistful of Redemption

The "frontier planet" Gehenna is a new setting, with new characters, new game mechanics, and new Western-themed loot. There's a bounty out on the Devil Riders, a gang of outlaws attacking the town of Vestige with the help of genetically modified creatures. The DLC is narrated by an unseen figure and features new characters such as warrior Rose and brawler Juno. Bounty of Blood will consist of Crew Challenges and story missions, with your actions influencing the town's future.

Gehenna is a desert planet. You can traverse it quickly with the Jetbeast hoverbike, but there'll also be helpful objects unique to the environment, such as the Traitorweed, which can briefly make allies of your enemies, and the Breezebloom, which helps you reach new areas.

Before this next piece of DLC, there's the "Takedown at the Guardian Breach" event, which launches on June 4th. You'll be sent on a mission to the planet of Minos Prime, where you'll face new enemies, including a miniboss and a final boss, as well as puzzles and platforming segments, with the chance to earn themed loot. The devs say it's an "extreme challenge..meant to push a full party of four Vault Hunters to the limit".

Meanwhile, the free Revenge of the Cartels seasonal event is still underway, running until 4th June. When it ends, the "Takedown at the Guardian Breach" event begins, followed by the release of the Bounty of Blood: A Fistful of Redemption DLC on June 25th. It doesn't look as though there's a price up yet for Bounty of Blood, but the last two DLCs have gone for £11.99/$14.99, so it's probable this one will be the same price. We'll keep you updated with Borderlands 3 news — including details on the fourth DLC, which should be shared soon.

I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
