Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire event delayed: "more important discussions are happening"

By Sean Carey,
CD Projekt Red has delayed its Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire event in a show of support towards Black Lives Matter protests currently taking place across the US after the death of George Floyd. Night City Wire will now take place later this month on June 25th.

CD Projekt Red said in a statement posted over on Twitter, "We decided to move Night City Wire to Jun 25th. We still look forward to sharing new information about CP'77, but more important discussions are happening right now, and we want them to be heard. We wholeheartedly stand against racism, intolerance and violence. Black Lives Matter."

The Night City Wire event was originally supposed to take place on June 11th. We were expecting to see some new gameplay and more details on the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077.

Several other gaming companies have also delayed or re-scheduled digital events in light of the current situation in the US. EA postponed a reveal for Madden NFL 21, Season 4 in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been delayed, and Sony has pushed back its PS5 games reveal.

Thanks to RDS for the news tip.
