The Swamps of Corsus DLC adds a Survival Mode, new Corsus content, and a load of new items in the form of weapons, armour, and other rewards. The description of the "revamped Corsus zone" in Adventure mode says "the hive mind Cult of Iskal has claimed the swamps for themselves, proving to be as lethal and dangerous as the Root, the evil force plaguing Earth. All hope is not lost for players, however, as a lone holdout remains, out of reach of the Iskal’s grasp. To change the future of Corsus, players must confront the Queen and stop the Iskal once and for all or choose to help her complete the Iskal’s plan." The Corsus Adventure mode includes new stories, quests, events, a new zone, new bosses and dungeons, and new weapons to be earned as rewards. The Survival mode, meanwhile, is a rogue-like mode which pushes you through World Stones with nothing but a pistol and some consumables, and challenges you to get as far as you can before succumbing to permadeath. Enemies become stronger as you progress through stages, but better rewards, such as the Hero's Sword, help you to keep fighting.

Swamps of Corsus is available for console players as of today, June 4th.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
