Vote Now for July 2020's TA Playlist Game

By The TA Playlist Team,
The TA Playlist is doing its first collaboration selection. A week ago marked the completion of the Great TrueAchievements Score Challenge (GTASC) which has been running for around 48 weeks!

We’ve asked the winners of the team challenge: JimbotUK, Infamous & DANIELJJ14 and the individual challenge Inferno118, to give us a selection of three to four games each and the Playlist Team has chosen the best-matched games from their nominations.

We're planning on this being the first of many collaborative TA Playlists, and we hope you all enjoy the selections!

Without further ado, here are the selections:

Pathologic 2

Pathologic 2 was nominated by Inferno118. They said it's, "The most addicting, unique, emotion-invoking game I've ever immersed myself in."

Pathologic 2

Pathologic 2 is an action-adventure game developed by Ice-Pick Lodge and released back in 2019. It was initially meant to be a remake of the original Pathologic game. However, it evolved into a game entirely of its own.
You play as a surgeon named Artemy Burakh, also known as the Haruspex. While receiving his medical education in another city, he receives a letter from his father, who informs him that 'great difficulties' are coming, and requests his son's assistance. Artemy returns to the village but meets a few challenges on the way. Once arriving back at his old village, he finds even more is amiss and is determined to discover what has happened.

Pathologic 2 currently holds a rating of 2.67/5.00 here on TA and will take you around 25-30 hours to complete. You can also find it on Xbox Game Pass.

Catherine

Catherine was nominated by JimbotUK. They said," Are you lost little lamb? Think it would be really cool to see this one on the TA playlist. An absolutely crazy game that could lead to some fun discussion."

7/5/11 Screenshot 2

Catherine is a puzzle game developed by Atlus and released on the Xbox 360 back in 2011.
The story follows a man called Vincent Brooks, who experiences supernatural nightmares while torn between his feelings for longtime girlfriend Katherine and the similarly-named girl you meet called Catherine.
The gameplay is divided between the daytime, where you talk to your friends and try to sort out your messy relationships with both Katherine and Catherine, and the nighttime where you must fight your way out of your hellish nightmares. The game's ending is affected by choices made by Vincent over the course of the story.
Catherine currently holds an impressive rating of 4.11/5.00 and will take you anywhere between 80-100 hours to complete. It's also backwards compatible.

Mirror’s Edge

Mirror's Edge was nominated by DANIELJJ14. They said that it is, "One of my personal all-time favourites, simple, clean art design, a great soundtrack and decent gameplay and story."

So is this.

Mirror's Edge is an action-adventure game developed by DICE and released back in 2008 for the Xbox 360.
You play as Faith, one of the many runners who courier messages while evading government surveillance, in a futuristic dystopian society. As Faith, run over rooftops, across walls, through ventilation shafts and slide down buildings using parkour-influenced movements. As Faith soon finds herself becoming a much greater focus of government attention, she'll unravel a secret that could lead to the downfall of the runners. In this brightly-coloured & simplistic game, it's better to run rather than fight.
Mirror's Edge currently holds a score of 3.78/5.00 and will take 25-30 hours to complete. It can be found in the EA Access Vault and is backwards compatible.

Crackdown 3: Campaign

In lieu of a nomination from Infamous, we've decided to include the highest-scoring game across the whole individual GTASC contest. This game turned out to be Crackdown 3: Campaign.

New Screenshots for Crackdown 3

Crackdown 3 is an open-world third-person shooter game developed by Xbox Game Studios and released back in early 2019.
It has the core gameplay that can be found in the previous instalments, Crackdown & Crackdown 2. You fight for control of your city - New Providence and wrestle control back from a number of gangs by killing their bosses, destroying their facilities and devastating their infrastructures. You also have similar features to previous games, such as the usual Skills for Kills system — where doing a task more often leads you to become better at it. Of course, you don't want to be forgetting about those Hidden Orbs as well.
Crackdown currently has a score of 3.62/5.00 and will take around 25-30 hours to complete. It is available on Xbox Game Pass.

One of these four will be the TA Playlist game for July, and they're all relying on your vote to get that spot. Finally, a massive congratulations to Is This Team Leapfrog? and to Inferno118 for finishing first in the 2019 GTASC!

The TA Playlist is a monthly community event. Everyone votes on which of four games to play, and then we all play through it in the following month. There's a dedicated hub to discuss everything about the game, from story beats to gameplay tips – and of course, you can track your achievement progress during the month as well. TA Playlist was created by Mark Delaney and is now run by Miles, Nici and Chewie.
