Stranded Deep patch should fix one of the game's buggy achievements

By Sean Carey,
Update: Beam Team has confirmed to us that the patch notes apply to the Xbox One version of the game as well as the PS4 version. The "Magnets, how do they work achievement?" should now be fixed.

Original Story: Developer Beam Team has rolled out a new patch for Stranded Deep on console that should hopefully fix an achievement that's been causing players a bit of a headache to unlock.

In the latest patch notes, Beam Team says the "Magnets, how do they work?" trophy should now be correctly awarded. With the patch coming to both Xbox One and PS4, it's somewhat safe to assume that the update will fix the Xbox achievement of the same name. Just in case, we have reached out to Beam Team to clarify.

Stranded DeepMagnets, how do they work? The Magnets, how do they work? achievement in Stranded Deep worth 295 pointsFinish a play through without ever using a compass

The "Magnets, how do they work?" achievement is supposed to be awarded for playing through the game without using a compass. It's a pretty tough achievement to unlock, and some have managed to grab it despite being a bit buggy, but several players have reported meeting the requirements and it still not popping.

Beam Team also says that picking up a compass will not invalidate the trophy/achievement and that a new save will be required if you've already picked up a compass in your current save.

The patch also makes several fixes to known issues, including one bug that resulted in the player losing items from the end game carrier. An option to toggle "auto-walk" on or off has been added in General Settings, and your controller should now vibrate when chopping logs.
