Chivalry 2 announced for Xbox Series X and Xbox One — will feature cross play

By Sean Carey,
Developer Torn Banner Studios has announced that Chivalry 2 will be getting both current and next-generation releases and a PC launch. Not only that, but the game will support cross-play between all platforms.

The game will launch on current-gen consoles and PC later this year, with more information about Xbox Series X and PS5 versions coming at a later date. Torn Banner Studios says Chivalry II will allow all players to play together regardless of what platform they're on. Torn Banner president Steve Piggot said in a press release, "We can't wait for gamers across the world on all five platforms to clash steel and experience the greatest melee combat system ever, together."

Players will battle it out on large scale medieval battlefields with vastly improved graphics over its predecessor, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. Players can also choose their own fighting style with an all-new subclass system. Four base classes can be expanded into various subclasses each with their own unique weapons and armour. Siege weapons such as the Ballista, Catapults, trebuchets and more add variety to the battlefield.

Chivalry 2 launches on Xbox One, PS4 and PC later this year. More information on the Xbox Series X and PS5 version will be given at a later date.
