State of Decay 2, DiRT Rally 2.0 and more now support mods on the Windows 10 Xbox Beta app

By Sean Carey,
A select number of games now support mods on the Xbox (Beta) app for Windows 10. A new update for the app has rolled out that makes several performance improvements but also allows users to mod some their games.

So far, only six titles (that we've found) have mod support on the Xbox app. State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition, DiRT Rally 2.0, Farming Simulator 17, FTL: Faster Than Light, Into the Breach and MudRunner can now all be modded with extra community-developed content. Games that support mods have also been updated in the app to display a "This game supports mods" message on the game's details page. The video posted above gives a brief overview on how to install mods on your PC, but Microsoft strongly recommends that you read their FAQ page on the topic before getting started.

Microsoft also notes in the video that Xbox Live features might not work in modded games.

Microsoft says it's been listening to feedback on a performance surrounding the app. Now, users should see a decrease in memory usage and (depending on region) should see improvements when downloading games.
