Here's every PS5 game reveal which will also launch on Xbox Series X

By Heidi Nicholas,
Alongside several new PlayStation exclusives, Sony's PS5 event also revealed some major titles which will also be launching for Xbox Series X. We've rounded up everything confirmed for the next-gen Xbox console below, with release windows where possible.

Xbox Series X

Resident Evil Village

This will be the eighth entry in the Resident Evil series, set a few years after Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, and once again featuring Ethan and Mia Winters and Chris Redfield. It's a first-person game with a focus on action gameplay, which Capcom says will depict "a different kind of terror: The fear of the unknown." Resident Evil Village doesn't launch until 2021, but there will be another update on the game in August this year.

Hitman 3

Hitman 3 will be the concluding part of IO Interactive's World of Assassination trilogy. Agent 47 will be returning alongside Diana Burnwood and Lucas Grey, for what IOI calls "the most important contracts" of 47's career. "Their ultimate mission is to eliminate the partners of Providence, but they are forced to adapt as their hunt intensifies. When the dust settles, 47 and the world he inhabits will never be the same again." Dubai has already been revealed as one of the six locations to be visited in the game. You'll also be able to "'import' locations" from the other two Hitman games, along with carrying over progress and unlocks from Hitman 2. Hitman 3 will launch in January 2021 for the Xbox Series X and Xbox One.

Another Capcom title, Pragmata is an action-adventure game set in a "dystopian near-future on Earth’s Moon". There's not a lot of detail on Pragmata yet: it's still a long way off and won't be released until 2022, although Capcom promises more information next year.

NBA 2K21

NBA 2K21 has been revealed for next-gen consoles, although 2K hasn't specified the Xbox Series X. The announcement mostly features on the features of the PS5, but 2K adds there'll be "new game features, game modes, brand partnerships, social events, in-game experiences and a brand new soundtrack" when the game "debuts this Fall".

GTAOnline: Lowrider Screens 5

GTA V has been announced for Xbox Series X: the third generation of console to have had the game. Rockstar says it will be "expanded and enhanced with new features and content" along with "technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements." GTA Online will also feature on the Series X, with new updates and new content.

Control E3 2019 Screenshots

Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that Control "is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X". There's been no more detail than that yet, but Remedy promises more information in the future.

Rumoured: DEATHLOOP & Ghostwire: Tokyo

Bethesda's two contributions, Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo have been specifically confirmed only for PS5 and PC. Yet as Eurogamer points out, both have been described as making their "console debut" on the PS5 — suggesting a later release for other consoles. Geoff Keighley, meanwhile, has chimed in on the subject, saying: "A bit of news I’m hearing: Bethesda’s Death Loop and Ghost Wire Tokyo are console exclusive to #playstation5 for a period of time."

That's everything from Sony's PS5 event. However, since E3 was cancelled, there's been a lot of new digital events scheduled for the rest of this year, and it's likely we'll be seeing a lot more Series X games info and announcements from these, including Ubisoft Forward and Night City Wire. We've got a list of every digital event happening this year in place of E3 so you can be sure you catch them all.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
