Square Enix was supposed to announce several games at this year's E3, but due to the gaming expo's cancellation, the publisher has been forced to re-think its plans. Now, Square Enix has revealed that "several" new games will be announced throughout July and August.

As reported by Gematsu — who has provided a full translation from No Investment, No Life — the company was asked about its plans for new game announcements over the summer in the wake of E3 2020's cancellation, during an investor call. The company's full response is as follows:

"We would normally announce new games at E3, yes. We had planned to have a press conference as a replacement event but were unable to do so since assets were not complete. We'll be announcing new titles individually as the timing permits. Several will debut around July to August."

We still have a couple of significant digital events left to go over the summer. Another Xbox 20/20 event that will showcase a bunch of first-party titles is due to take place in July along with Ubisoft's showcase, Ubisoft Forward on July 12th.
