Welcome to the gloriously hot and sweaty month of June! The summer gaming season is in full swing according to this week's retail releases
and so we can expect a number of new faces on the charts as the month progresses. The dominant L.A.Noire's
is clearly slowing down, especially since no one can say no to a free game. Or four. This report is for the period June 6th to June 12 2011
.Games StartedThe Duke's
North American launch numbers are not included this week as his release was staggered on a global scale. Even with a handicap Duke nearly beat out L.A.Noire
as the most started new game. Portal 2
is dropping week by week, which is to be expected for a game that has been out quite that long. An amazing showing by Valve's latest and we at the TA Stats Commentary Committee (of One) wish them the best of luck as they continue innovating and not releasing Half-Life Episode 3
We now live in a world where Duke Nukem Forever
beat Half-Life Episode 3

Quick! How many people do you think like hearing the words "Free Achievements?" If you said at least 5,732 then you obviously cheated and looked at the chart before answering. Kinect Fun Labs: Kinect Me
proved to be the most popular of the free 50 point arcade apps.
They also saved me from another week of making Harm's Way
observations. Thank you Kinect Fun Labs!Top Arcade Games StartedGames Completed
Just over 6,000 members of the community completed titles last week. 1,100 of those completed Kinect Fun Labs: Kinect Me
. With the exception of Halo:Reach
replacing Fallout:New Vegas
, the Top 5 Retail Completions only changed their order.

Boosted by the recent DLC, Full House Poker
makes it onto the Top 5 Arcade Completions chart amidst a sea of Kinect apps. The disparity between those that started the apps and those that finished is vast. As someone that does not have a Kinect, I can only assume this means some of the achievements are tedious and in a word, dull. Top Arcade Games CompletedAchievements Won
Technically we have three games represented in the Top Achievements Won category for the first time. Is it any surprise, after seeing how incredibly popular they were, that the Kinect Fun Labs dominates?
I think poor Kinect Fun Labs: Bobble Head
needs some love after being shut out.
