Xbox Gameplay Chart: Skate 3 makes a surprise first appearance

By Heidi Nicholas,
In our latest Xbox Gameplay Chart, the most recent Minecraft update has helped to boost both the console and Win 10 versions of the game, while lower down, Skate 3 has just made its first appearance. In between, there's a whole lot of reshuffling as games switch places up and down the ranks. Here is the top 40 Xbox Gameplay Chart for the week ending 28 June 2020.

Minecraft's Nether update released just last week, adding in new biomes, mobs, blocks, new content, achievement rewards, and four new achievements. It was a hefty update, and one which players have been waiting for for some time, so it's not surprising to see that Minecraft has risen by one space to no. 3. Minecraft (Win 10) has also been boosted by the update, reappearing in the chart at no. 30. Minecraft's rise has booted GTA V down one spot, but Modern Warfare and Fortnite remain undisturbed in the first and second places.

Dead by Daylight has hopped up a spot to no. 18, perhaps as a continued result of players picking up the game's most recent chapter: a Silent Hill crossover with six new achievements. Borderlands 3, meanwhile, has had a sizeable jump from no. 37 to no. 25. The game just got its third piece of DLC: Bounty of Blood: A Fistful of Redemption, which also added eight new achievements.

DayZ has hopped up five spaces to no. 33, while a little further down, Skate 3 makes its first appearance in our Xbox Gameplay Chart at no. 36. EA announced Skate 4 earlier this month, so perhaps some of that Skate nostalgia is sending more players back to Skate 3. Golf With Your Friends, on the other hand, has had a pretty significant fall from no. 29 to no. 37. The game was a day one addition to Xbox Game Pass, so some players might be gradually switching to other titles now it's been on the service for a while. Just below, Mortal Kombat 11 has dropped eight places to no. 38, while Assassin's Creed Odyssey has fallen to the last spot at no. 40. As a single-player title, Assassin's Creed Odyssey's position on the chart tends to fluctuate, but as we draw nearer to the launch of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, perhaps Odyssey will rise back up the chart as Assassin's Creed fans get ready for the next instalment. Lastly, this week's disappearances are Call of Duty: Black Ops II and The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.

Looking ahead, we've got a number of releases scattered throughout July which might see some chaos on our Xbox Gameplay Chart, as well as any surprise July additions to Xbox Game Pass which might come our way. July's upcoming releases include The Soroboreans DLC for Outward, F1 2020, Drake Hollow, Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break, Destroy All Humans! and Grounded. What do you think? Will we see any of these appearing on July's Xbox Gameplay Charts? Let us know in the comments!

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
