Rocket League's Fifth Anniversary event starts tomorrow, adds limited time modes & rewards By Heidi Nicholas, 29 Jun 2020 CommentsPsyonix is celebrating five years of Rocket League with a two-week-long in-game event, featuring limited time modes and event cosmetics. First of the limited time modes will be Spike Rush, where you can jam your car's spikes into the ball to ferry it to the goal. This starts at 9am PDT / 4pm UTC / 12am ET tomorrow, June 30th, and running until July 6th at 9am PDT / 4pm UTC / 12am ET. When the event starts tomorrow, Psyonix says you can also begin to earn Balloons in online matches, to be used in the store for "brand new Psyonix- and Rocket League- inspired items" such as the Psyonix II Wheels and the Party Horn Boost. You'll also be able to exchange Balloons for XP Packs. Along with Balloons, there will also be Golden Eggs with items from Champions Series 1, 2, 3, and 4.The second limited time mode, 2v2 Heatseeker, runs from July 6th at 9am PDT / 4pm UTC / 12am ET until July 13th, 9am PDT / 4pm UTC / 12am ET, when the five year anniversary itself ends. In Heatseeker, the ball gets faster each time it's hit, and will zoom towards your goal if you miss your opponent's. "It's thrilling and humbling to think about Rocket League hitting the five-year mark, and we won't be slowing down any time soon", says Psyonix. "A huge "thank you" from us to everyone in our community. Rocket League wouldn't be where it is today without your continued passion and support."Xbox One Written by Heidi NicholasHey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
