Xbox 20/20 reportedly set for week of July 20th with The Initiative debuting its new game By Sean Carey, 01 Jul 2020 CommentsA new report from Video Games Chronicle suggests that the next Xbox 20/20 will take place on July 23rd, and The Initiative will debut its first-ever game during the Xbox Series X first-party showcase event. According to previous reports from Venturebeat's Jeff Grub, Microsoft will be holding the 20/20 event in July. Now, sources have told VGC that the event will take place on July 23rd. The event will primarily be for first-party games, but VGC's sources have said that additional titles from third-party publishers and developers will be shown too. These sources have also confirmed that the secretive Xbox Game Studio, The Initiative, will unveil its first game during the event. The Initiative is a new Xbox studio that was only founded in 2018 and is comprised of several big names from the video game industry. Xbox boss Phil Spencer previously said that the studio is working on new "and old things", while a job listing posted over on LinkedIn had the internet speculating that a new Perfect Dark game could be coming from The Initiative. Microsoft has not confirmed a date, or if The Initiative will be announcing its new game during the event, so it's worth taking this one with a pinch of salt until there is official confirmation. What we do know however is that the next entry into the Halo series, Halo Infinite, will be shown during July's Xbox 20/20.Xbox Series XRumour Written by Sean CareySean joined the team as a Staff Writer for both TrueAchievements and TrueTrophies in 2019.
