F1 2020: the full feature list has now been revealed, with details on the new Podium Pass

By Heidi Nicholas,
F1 2020 releases in just over a week, and Codemasters has now revealed the game's full feature list: including shorter season options and a rear view mirror.

F1 2020's features include a new contract system, deeper F2 integration, split-screen, two new circuits, options for shorter seasons, a rear view mirror, simplified ERS and a customisable OSD. Codemasters has detailed these features further. Codemasters has already confirmed that this "deeper F2 integration" lets you choose either a full season, half season, or "three-race F2 experience", and that the 2020 F2 season will be added as a free update later in the year. The shorter season options, meanwhile, gives you a choice between the 22 race season — which includes the new circuits, Hanoi and Zandvoort — and the shorter 10 or 16 race options.

Codemasters has taken on feedback in designing the virtual rear view mirror, and has also simplified the ERS with an overtake button. The game will also have a new Podium Pass, which lets you unlock cosmetics through racing in game modes and earning XP: "custom cosmetic items" range from gloves and podium emotes to car liveries. There'll also be a VIP upgrade available for purchase, which will let you unlock better rewards and more challenges.

F1 2020 launches on July 10th. If you get the F1 2020 Deluxe Schumacher Edition, however, you'll access the game three days early on July 7th.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
