Ubisoft has announced that it will be discontinuing service for free-to-play real-time strategy game AirMech Arena and AirMech Arena (Xbox 360). The game's servers will close on September 6th.
The game will continue to be supported until September 6th, but from today, in-game purchases are disabled. Ubisoft says any leftover kudos you already have can still be used on purchases until September. The game will be fully closed on September 6th, with players unable to log in to their account. Ubisoft is asking players to link their account to Uplay before then, so that they can "be in touch with you about what's next."
"There is no easy way to say this, but we will be discontinuing our service for AirMech Arena for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on September 6, 2020," the announcement reads. "We want to thank the AirMech Arena community for all your support over the years. We’ll maintain our current level of support until September 6 so until then, enjoy the game!"
AirMech Arena is described as a game "where players use versatile AirMechs to amass combat forces and destroy enemy fortresses. In the future, the last survivors of the Great War continue their fight with the ultimate war machine: the AirMech. Created using lost technology, Pilots have found, salvaged, or stolen AirMechs that they use to protect the weak, or to pillage. Which side do you fight for?"
The full closure of AirMech Arena takes place on September 6th.
