Watch Dogs: Legion gets an October release date and new trailer

By Heidi Nicholas,
Ubisoft announced the Watch Dogs: Legion release date as October 29th, with a new trailer shown during today's Ubisoft Forward. Xbox's Phil Spencer also popped up during the event to confirm Ubisoft will be using Smart Delivery for Watch Dogs: Legion, meaning you'll get a free next-gen upgrade.

It had been a while since we'd had any major Watch Dogs: Legion news: the last we heard was that the game had been delayed and would be cross-gen, coming to both the Xbox One and the Xbox Series X.

Watch Dogs: Legion is an open-world third person shooter described as being set "in the near future" where "London is facing its downfall: an all-seeing surveillance state is oppressing the people, private militaries control the streets, and a powerful crime syndicate is preying on the vulnerable." It promises a "never-before-seen gameplay innovation", the Play as Anyone feature, where you can recruit anyone to your side by helping them and completing their origin missions.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
