Former head of Xbox Live joins EA to work on the Skate franchise

By Sean Carey,
The former head of Xbox Live Dan McCulloch recently announced his departure from Microsoft after spending 15 years with the company. Now McCulloch has revealed that he'll be joining EA as the Studio General Manager of the Skate franchise.

McCulloch made the announcement over on Twitter saying, "I'm incredibly excited to share that I'm going to be joining the Skate family at EA as Studio GM. I've been a huge fan of Skate for over a decade, and now I'm honored to be part of that amazing community."

Xbox boss Phil Spencer congratulated McCulloch on the move saying, "I'm really happy for Dan that he's realizing a dream of leading a team building a game. Now, Dan, Skate isn't just any franchise for many of us, this is important...focus."

During last month's EA Play Live, EA announced that a new entry into the Skate series was in development. The game is still in the very early stages, so no release window was given, but hopefully, we can expect to hear more on the game soon.
