Dragon Age 4 team are "making progress", says Bioware's executive producer

By Heidi Nicholas,
It's good news for Dragon Age fans: Bioware's executive producer Mark Darrah has confirmed the team is working on the next Dragon Age and "making progress" on the game.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting Dragon Age 4 news for some time, with rumours of a follow-up to the hugely popular Dragon Age: Inquisition floating about for years. During EA Play Live back in June, EA shared some screenshots which seemed to tease Dragon Age 4, but there was no confirmation or other details about the game. Now, Darrah's tweet can at least reassure players that the next Dragon Age is on the way.

Unfortunately, it looks as though the game is still a long way off. Back in 2019, chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen said during EA's earnings call that “you should assume that there’s Dragon Age out there, we’ve talked about it publicly that it’s in the works," but that it would "probably" arrive "after fiscal [year] 2022” (thanks, PCGamesN). This window could mean anywhere between April 2021 until March of 2022.

Darrah's comment in the tweet above that those are the only points he can say would tally with the idea that the next Dragon Age game is still a long way off. However, the team is "making progress" — so even if the game doesn't launch for a while, it hopefully shouldn't be long before we see an official reveal. We'll keep you updated.
