Epic Games Store now has an achievements system

By Sean Carey,
The Epic Games Store now has its own achievement system. Although the system is in its very early stages, the team announced that certain games might start displaying achievements as they are unlocked. The company hinted at bringing the feature to the Epic Games store last year when it moved achievement support into "Future Development" on its Trello board.

"Certain games on the Epic Games Store may begin to display achievements as you unlock them," the Epic Games team said on Twitter. "This is an early version of the feature, and you can expect to see changes & adjustments. We'll have more info to share on achievements in the future, so stay tuned!"

In the tweet, Epic shows a brief snippet of Ark: Survival Evolved and what looks to be an achievement tab showing certain achievements that are both locked and unlocked, and progress bars.

Epic has also added an image over on its Trello page of what could be the future achievement system. It looks to be a mashup of both the Xbox achievement system and PlayStation's trophy system, with a bronze, silver and gold rating system. It should be noted that this might not be the final product when achievements launch fully for the Epic Games Store.

Last month, Epic Games revealed that the Epic Games Store has over 61 million monthly active users on PC with an average concurrent player figure of 13 million.
