Activision details Shadow Company operators for Season 5 of Modern Warfare & Warzone

By Heidi Nicholas,
Activision has shared a look at the Shadow Company operators joining Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone in Season Five on August 5th.

Activision says each season will "advance" the narrative of Modern Warfare, and that "as Season Five approaches, events have transpired and led to the formation of a new group aligned in name only with the Allegiance faction – Shadow Company."

The Armistice alliance has fallen apart, and "new Operators dropping into Verdansk have joined the fray to protect their own." The Shadow Company is a splinter group which exists "outside the boundaries of the original Armistice... Forged from the fires of in-fighting between the Coalition and the Allegiance, Shadow Company has a framework and agenda all of their own."

The Shadow Company operators are Rozlin “Roze” Helms, Velikan, and the leader, Marcus “Lerch” Ortega. Lerch is from Texas, with experience in the U.S. Marine Corps and the private sector. He's apparently "the perfect combination of skill and moral flexibility". Velikan is less easily described, since "not much is known" about him, and he dresses in full body armour to keep it that way. He's listed simply as a "shadow of a shadow." Roze has experience in the Jackals Allegiance faction and the Armed Services.

Season Five is set to start on August 5th.
