Project xCloud will launch this September in 22 countries for Android devices

By Sean Carey,
Microsoft has confirmed that Project xCloud for Android will launch on Septemeber 15th for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. xCloud will be available in 22 different countries in a beta phase with over 100 playable games.

As detailed over on Xbox Wire, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will get access to "more than 100 high-quality games playable from the cloud". Xbox hasn't detailed what the full library will include. Currently, there are several games in the Project xCloud preview that are not included in the Xbox Game Pass library, so it will be interesting to see if they will be removed from the service once xCloud goes live in September. Xbox says it will be sharing more about the full catalogue of games closer to release. The company also intends for new titles from Xbox Game Studios to be available via xCloud on the day of release.

xCloud will launch on September 15th in the following 22 countries: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. Xbox says, "Cloud gaming will launch in beta" for these 22 countries to "ensure stability as we scale the feature to millions of gamers."

The company has also partnered with Razer, PowerA, 8BitDo and Nacon to create a new range of controllers and accessories specifically designed for xCloud. You can find out more about those here.

Project xCloud officially launches on September 15th for Android users. Xbox has not revealed any information on iOS support.
