Hyper Scape's new limited time mode Faction War adds in large-scale team battles

By Heidi Nicholas,
A new limited-time game mode for Hyper Scape, titled Faction War, is out now and brings players together for "massive team battles." Faction War runs for the rest of the month, and ends on September 1st.

Faction War will feature 96 players, split up into four factions, and brought together in an "urban area" for large-scale team battles.

Hyper Scape was a bit of a surprise shadow-drop from Ubisoft. The speculation about a new FPS battle royale seemed proven right when a website — prismadimensions.com — popped up out of nowhere, teasing a new game set in the virtual city of Neo Arcadia. The game was then officially announced, with Ubisoft describing it as an "urban-futuristic free-to-play battle royale". It wasn't too clear which platforms Hyper Scape would launch on: PC players were able to access the beta in July, but it didn't launch in full for Xbox until last week.

Since then, the game's already made it into our latest Xbox Gameplay Chart, coming in to land at a very respectable no. 6: not bad for its first week, especially considering the top ten of our Gameplay Chart has been pretty unmoveable for the last few weeks.

It remains to be seen whether Hyper Scape will hang onto its popularity. What do you think — will Hyper Scape still be in the top ten next week? Will you be playing Faction War? Let us know in the comments!
