Crysis Remastered finally gets a release date

By Luke Albigés,
Crysis Remastered has seemingly been having a bit of trouble getting dressed. But now, it's suited, booted, and ready to rock, and set to arrive on Xbox One on September 18th. To celebrate, here is a very pretty video.

This remaster is a collaboration between Crytek and Saber Interactive designed to push the original graphical powerhouse to the limits. There's a ton of new tech at work, from 8K textures and vastly improved lighting to enhanced shadows and particle effects. If you play on Xbox One X, you'll also be treated to ray tracing for even more stunning visuals thanks to a particularly clever CryEngine software solution. From our initial estimates, the remastered version appears to have around 273% more graphics than the original, which is pretty sweet.

For years, people have been looking at the Xbox One and asking, "Can it run Crysis?" And on September 18th, we'll finally have a positive answer: "Yes, so long as you are willing to fork out £26.99/$29.99/€29.99 for a remastered version." It's a bit of a mouthful, though, so we'll probably end up shortening it to just "yes" at some point.
