Age of Empires update teased for Gamescom

By Sean Carey,
It looks like we're going to finally see more on Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition at Gamescom later this week, if a solution to a new teaser is to be believed.

Over on the Age of Empires Twitter account, this cryptic image has been posted. The teaser doesn't give us much to go on and only shows images of various units found in the game. However, fans have seemingly figured out the solution. Apparently, if you take the hotkeys for each of the pictured units, you spell out the word "Gamescom". It's likely that we could get a release date for the strategy game during Thursday's Gamescom Opening Night Live, where host Geoff Keighley has revealed that the majority of the show will feature updates on already existing games.

Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition was recently rated in Brazil and Australia last month. Generally, when games receive ratings, it means they are close to launching.

According to host Geoff Keighley, Gamescom Opening Night Live will feature 38 games from 18 different publishers.
