By Sean Carey,
Those tenacious dataminers have been once again digging into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's files to find out more information about the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. As reported by COD Tracker, Black Ops Cold War is set to be a direct sequel to 2010's Call of Duty: Black Ops.

A new patch released for Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone also included new information on this year's Call of Duty. A full game description and details on an Ultimate Edition were found. According to the game's blurb, Black Ops Cold War is set in the early 1980s and, in the single-player campaign, players will visit locations such as East Berlin, Vietnam, Turkey and the Soviet KGB headquarters.

Iconic characters from the Black Ops series are also making a comeback. Frank Woods, Jason Hudson and Alex Mason, as well as some new shadowy operatives, are all out to stop a plot that's been "decades in the making." Players are on the trail of a clandestine figure known as Perseus who is trying to destabilise the global balance of power.

Aside from the campaign, the blurb says that weapons and equipment from the Cold War era will be brought into the "next generation of Multiplayer and Zombies experiences," which confirms the return of Zombies to Call of Duty.

The Ultimate Edition will reportedly include the game, several skins for Operators and Vehicles, Weapon Blueprints and a Battle Pass Season 1 Bundle plus 20 Tier Skips. Players will also receive a Confrontations Weapons Pack, but details of that have not been revealed.

Those that pre-order will get early access to an open beta, Frank Woods as an Operator, 10 Tier Skips and a Weapon Blueprint all for immediate use in Modern Warfare and Warzone.

A worldwide reveal for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is expected to take place tomorrow. We will also be seeing more of the game during Gamescom Opening Night Live.
