Black Ops: Cold War will have multiple endings influenced by player choice

Gamescom's Opening Night Live gave us a new look at Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War, the direct sequel to the original Call of Duty Black Ops.

Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War launches on November 13th. Dan Vondrak, creative director at Raven, popped up during Opening Night Live to reveal that you'll be able to create your own character for the campaign, and that there will be optional objectives and player choice in certain missions. The game itself will have multiple endings influenced by these player choices. We also got a brief look at the game's campaign background with the Perseus Briefing Cinematic, which showed Jason Hudson briefing the U.S. President at the CIA Headquarters in 1981. As suggested by the teaser trailer and reveal trailer, the main focus is on the soviet spy codenamed "Perseus."

All we know so far, according to the official description, is that Black Ops: Cold War revolves around the "volatile geopolitical battle of the early 1980s." The single-player campaign submerges you in a "global conspiracy" with familiar faces such as Woods, Mason, and Hudson, along with new operatives. We'll learn more about the game's multiplayer a few weeks from now, on September 9th.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
