Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time demo out now for those who digitally pre-ordered

By Heidi Nicholas,
If you've digitally pre-ordered Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, or do so today, you can get access to the demo with three levels and two playable characters.

The demo includes Crash's levels of Snow Way Out and Dino Dash, and then Snow Way Out again with Cortex as the playable character in an "alternate timeline." It does seem a bit of an odd way to make use of a demo, as you can only access it after buying the game. Pre-orders also get you the Totally Tubular Skins for Crash and Coco, although it looks like these will only be available when the game launches in full on October 2nd, as they're available after you finish the second level.

Cortex is the only other playable character in the demo, but in the full game you can also play as Dingodile, who enters the game after his diner is destroyed. If you want, you can also play the whole game through as Coco. Tawna is another playable character, although it's a Tawna from another dimension, armed with a hook-shot, ground-pound attack, spinning kicks and a wall jump.

The demo is available now for those who digitally pre-order, and the game launches in full on October 2nd.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
