Microsoft Flight Simulator update fixes broken achievements

By Sean Carey,
An update for Microsoft Flight Simulator (Win 10) has supposedly fixed some of the game's achievement issues which have been present since the flight sim's launch back in August.

Patch notes for Update 1.8.3.0 detail that the "Completionist" and "In the Wild" achievements should now be unlockable for all players. To pop "Completionist," you'll need to complete all 24 landing challenges and three bush trips in the game, while "In the Wild" requires you to use the Smart Cam to view animals for three seconds from a distance of 550 yards or less. Now the wildlife-related achievement has been fixed, you can finally bust out that David Attenborough impression you've been practising since launch.

According to our forums, some players have seemingly been having tracking and unlock issues with the "Jack of All Planes" achievement, which requires you to complete a 300+ mile flight with every aircraft in the standard edition of the game. Looking at the achievement solution and other forum posts, it seems this achievement is also now tracking and unlocking correctly, although it hasn't been detailed in the latest patch notes.

The new patch also makes numerous performance improvements, slight changes to aerodynamics, bug fixes, and much more. You can check out the full list of patch notes (which are pretty extensive) over on the Microsoft Flight Simulator website.

Patch 1.8.3.0 is available for Microsoft Flight Simulator now.
