Disintegration servers to close soon, achievement requirements to change

By Sean Carey,
Developer V1 Interactive has announced that servers for Disintegration will close soon despite the game only launching three months ago. The server closure would mean that several of Disintegration's achievements would become discontinued, but the developer has vowed to make the affected achievements unlockable offline.

Disintegration beta

In a statement posted over on the Disintegration website, V1 Interactive says that while the single-player campaign garnered a lot of interest, the game's multiplayer failed to establish a big enough player base. "The game, unfortunately, struggled to build a significant audience necessary for a compelling multiplayer experience. After weighing options, we have collectively made the decision to sunset the multiplayer support," the statement reads.

"We have made the difficult decision to remove Disintegration's multiplayer modes from the game across all platforms. This will be done in phases over the coming months, starting today with the removal of the in-game store, and will conclude on November 17th with the full removal of multiplayer." The single-player mode in Disintegration will remain fully playable.

DisintegrationBattle TestedThe Battle Tested achievement in Disintegration worth 51 pointsDefeat an enemy Gravcycle.

DisintegrationTough StuffThe Tough Stuff achievement in Disintegration worth 52 pointsDefeat an enemy Thunderhead.

DisintegrationBusy NanitesThe Busy Nanites achievement in Disintegration worth 53 pointsRepair 10,000 damage in a mission.

DisintegrationJob's DoneThe Job's Done achievement in Disintegration worth 891 pointsComplete all other Achievement requirements.

The four achievements listed above all have an online requirement. Luckily, it looks like these four will not be discontinued and will remain unlockable after the server closure. According to an admin over in the Disintegration Discord (thanks, Shadow Kisuragi), V1 Interactive will be changing the achievements to unlock in single-player. Harada V1 wrote, "We'll be updating trophies and achievements to make all of them attainable in single player."

It's currently unclear exactly when requirements for these achievements will be changed, but with multiplayer being removed from the game on November 17th, it will likely be around then.

Thanks to Bsmittel for the news tip.
